Red Diamond

About Red Diamond

The Red Diamond brand of The Diamond Bus Company Ltd operates from a depot in Redditch. The services run from these depots are mostly local contracted services. See also Black Diamond, the sister company of Red Diamond and Blue Diamond, a sister brand.

The Diamond Bus Company was formed from the acquisition of Go West Midlands Limited in March 2008 from the Go-Ahead Group PLC. The loss making company was turned into a profit making entity within 3 months of becoming part of Rotala.

2008 saw investment in 40 brand new vehicles split between the Red and Black Diamond fleet, in order to target specific areas of operation and create a network of services. Also, during 2008, the bus business of Ludlows of Halesowen Ltd was successfully merged into the Diamond Bus Company.

Over the last few years the Diamond brand has grown considerably. In order to give a wider presence in the West Midlands market, it was decided that 'Central Connect' would be rebranded as 'Blue Diamond'. As part of this rebrand the fares and tickets have been restructured and cross Diamond brand ticketing has been introduced.
