Rotala floated on the AIM market in 2005 with a vision "to acquire complementary businesses in transportation management. In the transport sector, the Board anticipated that opportunities would arise in the provision of bus services, chauffeur-drive services, Park & Ride and integrated ground transportation."
Since flotation, Rotala has aquired Flights Hallmark Limited, Flights Corporate Transfers Limited, Preston Bus Limited, Central Connect Limited, North Birmingham Busways Limited, North Birmingham Training Limited, Diamond Bus Company Limited and Ludlows of Halesowen Limited. It has also acquired the bus businesses of Birmingham Motor Traction Limited and South Gloucestershire Bus and Coach Company Limited.
Rotala now operates in three key areas:
• Bus
• Coach
• Transport Management
These key areas of operation encompass the original vision of Park & Ride, bus services and integrated ground transportation.
Rotala operates 530 buses per day, employing over 1200 members of staff and carrying approximately 35,000,000 passengers every year.
